Burgess donation

Burgess very kindly donated a load of their Greyhound and Lurcher food to us. so now all the dogs that go to their new homes will go with a sack of this to keep them going :)

https://www.burgesspetcare.com/shop/dog-food/supadog/greyhound-lurcher-chicken/

It also means we can cut down on the cost of our dog food (normally over £100 per week) which is a HUGE help. Plus for every sack they sell, they donate 20p towards rescue!

Thank you so much BURGESS

Belle and TJ Newton can’t believe their luck!

Lots of food!

Donations for the dogs

We had a lovely surprise donation of treats from The Innocent Pet care company the other day and the dogs are going absolutely doolally over them :)

They’re air dried and grain free meat proteins such as duck, beef, chicken, lamb and different vegetables. They’re little “training treat” size pieces and smell lovely, even to me and I’m a veggie :) I heartily recommend them, check them out :

They do complete food / cat food/ toys and gift idea too……. not the cheapest in the world, but, as I’ve discovered, “you get what you pay for”. Also supplements such as Turmeric and Pepper (I take that!) and and Aloe Vera and Spirulina.

And the best bit is : They’re from Yorkshire and they have LURCHERS :)

Box of goodies!

Mudz hoping for some more

Easter Pressies for the LL dogs

The Easter Bunny came early for the LL dogs and brought them, not chocolate eggs, but "Yak chews" (made from really hard yak milk cheese, not Yak meat) which they all think is the best thing ever. Even the dogs with sensitive tums, like Benny, have been able to have a good chomp on them…. thank you to everyone who donated towards the Yakky fund and to Carolyn Savage from the Canine Cavern https://www.caninecavern.co.uk/ for facilitating this.

Can we help Jessica reach her goal???

Jessica has done her million steps and has raised £220 for Lurcher Link :D Thank you so much Jessica, we really appreciate your dedication x x x

12 year old Jessica is about 4000 steps from her 1 million. She will reach her target on time tomorrow. She's just finishing her blog post off to say where she is up to. Not sure if we can give it one last push as she's walked over 995,000 steps, 390 miles since the first of July. She's only on £200 at the moment

ONE MILLION STEPS for charities

We have a lovely young lady called Jessica, who’s doing a ONE MILLION step walk to raise money for Lurcher Link and some other dogs charities. She's only 12 and that's approx 400 miles!!! She’s trying to raise £250, but I'm sure we can help her beat that target, can't we?

If you'd like to read about it, you can go to : http://www.jessicas400milewalk.co.uk/

You can add comments to give her some encouragement on her Blog : https://jessicas400milewalk.co.uk/wp/2020/06/30/hello-world/

and her Just Giving page is : https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lurchers if you'd like to donate a couple of squids.

Thanks folks

NEW - ONLINE course from J & J Greenwood

Jim's offering a new on-line course, specifically aimed at sighthound owners, as he's unable to do face to face courses atm due to Covid19. This is what he says:

“ Our new course "Training leads to freedom" Foundation launches today.

A must for anyone with sighthound in particular as could not help but base it around the needs of the sighthound. Don’t worry if you are not fortunate to have a sighthound the lessons work for any dog. Join us and give you dog the skills to be free and make those walks something special.

In these strange times in an attempt to help 10% of profits from course will go to sighthound rescues who have lost many of their fund raising opportunities

Help your self and others at the same time
Stay safe everyone.”

And for anyone who's not familiar with Jim and his work, I'd recommend you go and have a nosy at his website. Plus, he's kindly donating 10% of his profit from this course to Greyhound Gap and Lurcher Link
